Isaiah 50:5-9

5 aThe Lord God has opened my ear,
band I was not rebellious;
I turned not backward.
6 cI gave my back to those who strike,
and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard;
I hid not my face
from disgrace and spitting.
7 But the Lord God helps me;
therefore I have not been disgraced;
dtherefore I have set my face like a flint,
and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
8 eHe who vindicates me is near.
Who will contend with me?
Let us stand up together.
Who is my adversary?
Let him come near to me.
9 fBehold, the Lord God helps me;
who will declare me guilty?
Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment;
the moth will eat them up.

Acts 21:11-14

11And coming to us, he utook Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, vThus says the Holy Spirit, w‘This is how the Jews
Greek Ioudaioi probably refers here to Jewish religious leaders, and others under their influence, in that time
at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and ydeliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”
12When we heard this, we and the people there zurged him not to go up to Jerusalem. 13Then Paul answered, aaWhat are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For abI am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem acfor the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14And since he would not be persuaded, adwe ceased and said, ae“Let the will of the Lord be done.”
