kwere seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death,
60but they found none, lthough many false witnesses came forward. At last mtwo came forward 61and said, “This man said, n‘I am able to odestroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’” 62And the high priest stood up and said, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”
Or Have you no answer to what these men testify against you?
63 qBut Jesus remained silent. rAnd the high priest said to him, s“I adjure you by tthe living God, utell us if you are vthe Christ, wthe Son of God.” 64Jesus said to him, xYou have said so. But I tell you, from now on yyou will see the Son of Man zseated at the right hand of Power and aacoming on the clouds of heaven.” 65Then the high priest abtore his robes and said, ac“He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy. 66What is your judgment?” They answered, ad“He deserves death.” 67Then aethey spit in his face afand agstruck him. And some slapped him, 68saying, “Prophesy to us, you ahChrist! Who is it that struck you?”

Luke 22:54-62

Peter Denies Jesus

54 aiThen they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest’s house, ajand Peter was following at a distance. 55 akAnd when they had kindled a fire in the middle of althe courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them. 56Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also was with him.” 57But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” 58And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.” 59And after an interval of about an hour still another aminsisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.” 60But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. 61And the Lord turned and anlooked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, aoBefore the rooster crows today, you will apdeny me three times.” 62And he went out and wept bitterly.

John 18:13-14

13First they aqled him to arAnnas, for he was the father-in-law of asCaiaphas, who was high priest that year. 14It was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews atthat it would be expedient that one man should die for the people.

John 18:24

24 auAnnas then sent him bound to avCaiaphas the high priest.
