Isaiah 54:7-10

7 aFor a brief moment I deserted you,
but with great compassion I will gather you.
8 bIn overflowing anger for a moment
I hid my face from you,
cbut with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,”
says the Lord, your Redeemer.
9 This is like dthe days of Noah
Some manuscripts For this is as the waters of Noah
to me:
as I swore that the waters of Noah
should no more go over the earth,
so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you,
and will not rebuke you.
10For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and fmy covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Matthew 27:3-10

Judas Hangs Himself

3Then when gJudas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus
Greek he
was condemned, ihe changed his mind and brought back jthe thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,
4saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? kSee to it yourself.” 5And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, lhe departed, and he went and hanged himself. 6But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into mthe treasury, since it is blood money.” 7So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field as a burial place for strangers. 8Therefore nthat field has been called the Field of Blood oto this day. 9 pThen was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, qAnd they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, 10and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.”

Matthew 27:12

12 rBut when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he gave no answer.

Acts 1:18-19

18(Now this man sacquired a field with tthe reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong
Or swelling up
he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
19And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called vin their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
