Isaiah 56:10

10 aHis watchmen are blind;
they are all without knowledge;
they are all silent bdogs;
they cannot bark,
dreaming, lying down,
loving to slumber.

Isaiah 62:6-7

6 On your walls, O Jerusalem,
I have set cwatchmen;
all the day and all the night
they shall never be silent.
You who put the Lord in remembrance,
take no rest,
7and give him no rest
until he establishes Jerusalem
and makes it da praise in the earth.

Ezekiel 34:8-10

8 eAs I live, declares the Lord God, surely because fmy sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, 9therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10Thus says the Lord God, gBehold, I am against the shepherds, and hI will require my sheep at their hand and iput a stop to their feeding the sheep. jNo longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. kI will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.

Ezekiel 34:16

Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate  I will watch over
I will feed them in justice.

Zechariah 11:16

Matthew 24:42-51

42Therefore, rstay awake, for you do not know on what day syour Lord is coming. 43 tBut know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night uthe thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44Therefore you also must be vready, for wthe Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

45Who then is xthe faithful and ywise servant,
Greek bondservant; also verses 46, 48, 50
whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
46 aaBlessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 47Truly, I say to you, abhe will set him over all his possessions. 48But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master acis delayed,’ 49and begins to beat his fellow servants
Greek bondservants
and eats and drinks with aedrunkards,
50the master of that servant will come afon a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know 51and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place agthere will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Revelation of John 16:15

15(“Behold, ahI am coming like a thief! aiBlessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, ajthat he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”)
