Isaiah 56:10-12

10 aHis watchmen are blind;
they are all without knowledge;
they are all silent bdogs;
they cannot bark,
dreaming, lying down,
loving to slumber.
11 cThe dogs have a mighty appetite;
they never have enough.
But dthey are shepherds who have no understanding;
they have all turned to their own way,
eeach to his own gain, one and all.
12 fCome,” they say, “let me get wine;
let us fill ourselves with strong drink;
gand tomorrow will be like this day,
great beyond measure.”

Ezekiel 22:25-28

25 hThe conspiracy of her prophets in her midst is ilike a roaring lion jtearing the prey; they have devoured human lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst. 26 kHer priests lhave done violence to my law and mhave profaned my holy things. nThey have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and othey have disregarded my Sabbaths, pso that I am profaned among them. 27 qHer princes in her midst are like wolves rtearing the prey, sshedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain. 28And ther prophets have smeared whitewash for them, useeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken.

Ezekiel 34:2

2 vSon of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord God: wAh, shepherds of Israel xwho have been feeding yourselves! yShould not shepherds feed the sheep?

Zephaniah 3:3

3 zHer officials within her
are roaring lions;
her judges are aaevening wolves
that leave nothing till the morning.

Zechariah 11:4-9

4Thus said the Lord my God: ab“Become shepherd of the flock doomed to slaughter. 5 acThose who buy them slaughter them and go unpunished, and those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be the Lord, adI have become rich,’ and their own shepherds have no pity on them. 6For aeI will no longer have pity on the inhabitants of this land, declares the Lord. Behold, I will cause each of them to fall into the hand of his neighbor, and each into the hand of his king, and they shall crush the land, and I will deliver none from their hand.”

7 afSo I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I took two staffs, one I named agFavor, the other I named ahUnion. aiAnd I tended the sheep. 8In one month ajI destroyed the three shepherds. But I became impatient with them, and they also detested me. 9So I said, “I will not be your shepherd. akWhat is to die, let it die. What is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed. And let those who are left devour the flesh of one another.”

Zechariah 11:16

16For behold, I am raising up in the land a shepherd alwho does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young or heal the maimed or nourish the healthy, but amdevours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.

John 10:1

I Am the Good Shepherd

1Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.

Acts 5:36
