1 ^cThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,

to proclaim liberty to the captives,

2 ^hto proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
ⁱand the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
^jto give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
^kthe oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
^lthat they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, ^mthat he may be glorified. ^{▼▼Or that he may display his beauty}

Jeremiah 9:1

Jeremiah 13:17

17 But if you will not listen,

Jeremiah 31:9
