Isaiah 57:7-10

7 aOn a high and lofty mountain
you have set your bed,
and there you went up to offer sacrifice.
8Behind the door and the doorpost
you have set up your memorial;
for, deserting me, byou have uncovered your bed,
you have gone up to it,
cyou have made it wide;
and you have made a covenant for yourself with them,
you have loved their bed,
you have looked on nakedness.
Or  on a monument (see 56:5); Hebrew  on a hand

9You journeyed to the king with oil
and multiplied your perfumes;
eyou sent your envoys far off,
and sent down even to Sheol.
10You were wearied with the length of your way,
fbut you did not say, “It is hopeless”;
you found new life for your strength,
and so you were not faint.
Hebrew  and so you were not sick

36 jHow much you go about,
changing your way!
You shall be kput to shame by Egypt
as you were put to shame by Assyria.

Septuagint, Syriac; Hebrew Saying, “If
a man divorces his wife
and she goes from him
and becomes another man’s wife,

rYou have polluted the land
with your vile whoredom.

she who conceived them has acted shamefully.
For tshe said, ‘I will go after my lovers,
who ugive me my bread and my water,
my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’
6Therefore vI will hedge up her
Hebrew your
way with thorns,
and xI will build a wall against her,
so that she cannot find her paths.
7She shall pursue her lovers
but not overtake them,
and she shall seek them
but shall not find them.
yThen she shall say,
‘I will go and return to zmy first husband,
aafor it was better for me then than now.’

Hosea 2:13

13And abI will punish her for acthe feast days of the Baals
