Isaiah 58:1

True and False Fasting

1 Cry aloud; do not hold back;
alift up your voice like a trumpet;
bdeclare to my people their transgression,
to the house of Jacob their sins.

Jeremiah 6:13-14

13 cFor from the least to the greatest of them,
everyone dis greedy for unjust gain;
and from eprophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.
14They have healed the wound of my people lightly,
saying, fPeace, peace,’
gwhen there is no peace.

Jeremiah 23:13-14

13In the prophets of hSamaria
iI saw an unsavory thing:
jthey prophesied by Baal
kand led my people Israel astray.
14But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
lthey commit adultery and walk in lies;
mthey strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
nall of them have become like Sodom to me,

Ezekiel 3:15-18

A Watchman for Israel

16 vAnd at the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came to me: 17 wSon of man, xI have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall ygive them warning from me. 18 zIf I say to the wicked, aa‘You shall surely die,’ aband you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person acshall die for

his iniquity, aebut his blood I will require at your hand.

Ezekiel 3:26-27

26And I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that afyou shall be mute and unable to reprove them, agfor they are a rebellious house. 27 ahBut when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, aiThus says the Lord God.’ ajHe who will hear, let him hear; and he who will refuse to hear, let him refuse, for they are a rebellious house.

Ezekiel 13:16

16the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem akand saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, declares the Lord God.

Ezekiel 33:6

6 alBut if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, amthat person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.
