And he said:

Isaiah 24:1-6

Judgment on the Whole Earth

1 Behold, cthe Lord will empty the earth
Or land; also throughout this chapter
and make it desolate,
and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.
2 eAnd it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
as with the slave, so with his master;
as with the maid, so with her mistress;
fas with the buyer, so with the seller;
as with the lender, so with the borrower;
gas with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 hThe earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
ifor the Lord has spoken this word.
4 jThe earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.
5The earth lies kdefiled
under its inhabitants;
for lthey have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.
6Therefore ma curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants nsuffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left.

Isaiah 27:10

10 oFor the fortified city is solitary,
a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness;
there the calf grazes;
there it lies down and strips its branches.

Ezekiel 33:27-28

27Say this to them, Thus says the Lord God: pAs I live, surely those who are in qthe waste places shall fall by rthe sword, and whoever is in the open field I will give to sthe beasts to be devoured, and those who are in tstrongholds and in caves shall die by upestilence. 28 vAnd I will make the land a desolation and a waste, and wher proud might shall come to an end, and xthe mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that none will pass through.
