Isaiah 6:5-8

5And I said: “Woe is me! aFor I am lost; bfor I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the cKing, the Lord of hosts!”

6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7And he dtouched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”

Isaiah’s Commission from the Lord

8And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for eus?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”

Romans 4:5-8

5And to the one who does not work but fbelieves in
Or  but trusts; compare verse 24
him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,
6just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

7 hBlessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
and whose sins are covered;
8blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not icount his sin.”
