a“‘Keep on hearing,

Isaiah 42:18-20

Israel’s Failure to Hear and See

18 Hear, you deaf,
and look, you blind, that you may see!
19Who is blind but my servant,
or deaf as my messenger whom I send?
Who is blind as my dedicated one,
Or  as the one at peace with me

or blind as the servant of the Lord?
20 fHe sees many things, but does not observe them;
ghis ears are open, but he does not hear.

Isaiah 44:18

18They know not, nor do they discern, for he has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their hearts, so that they cannot understand.

Matthew 6:23

23 hbut if iyour eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Matthew 13:13-15

13This is why I speak to them in parables, because jseeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, knor do they understand. 14Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:

l“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand,
and you will indeed see but never perceive.”
15For this people’s heart has grown dull,
and with their ears mthey can barely hear,
and ntheir eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and ounderstand with their heart
and pturn, and I would heal them.’

John 3:19

19 qAnd this is the judgment: rthe light has come into the world, and speople loved the darkness rather than the light because ttheir works were evil.

John 12:40-41

40 u“He has blinded their eyes
and vhardened their heart,
lest they see with their eyes,
and understand with their heart, and turn,
and I would heal them.”
41Isaiah said these things because whe saw his glory and xspoke of him.
