Isaiah 6:9

9And he said, “Go, and say to this people:

a“‘Keep on hearing,
Or Hear indeed
but do not understand;
keep on seeing,
Or see indeed
but do not perceive.’

Isaiah 29:9-14

9 Astonish yourselves
Or Linger awhile
and be astonished;
blind yourselves and be blind!
Be drunk, but not with wine;
estagger, but not with strong drink!
10 fFor the Lord has poured out upon you
a spirit of deep sleep,
and has closed your eyes (the prophets),
and covered your heads (the seers).
11And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is gsealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”

13 And the Lord said:
Because hthis people idraw near with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,
14therefore, behold, jI will again
do wonderful things with this people,
with wonder upon wonder;
and kthe wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.”

Isaiah 56:10

10 lHis watchmen are blind;
they are all without knowledge;
they are all silent mdogs;
they cannot bark,
dreaming, lying down,
loving to slumber.

Jeremiah 4:22

22 For nmy people are foolish;
they know me not;
they are stupid children;
they have no understanding.
oThey are ‘wise’—in doing evil!
But how to do good they know not.”

Jeremiah 5:21

21Hear this, pO foolish and senseless people,
qwho have eyes, but see not,
who have ears, but hear not.

Ezekiel 12:2

2 rSon of man, you dwell in the midst of sa rebellious house, twho have eyes to see, but see not, who have ears to hear, but hear not, for they are ua rebellious house.

Matthew 13:14-15

14Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:

v“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand,
and you will indeed see but never perceive.”
15For this people’s heart has grown dull,
and with their ears wthey can barely hear,
and xtheir eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and yunderstand with their heart
and zturn, and I would heal them.’

Matthew 15:14-16

14Let them alone; aathey are blind guides.
Some manuscripts add of the blind
And acif the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
15But Peter said to him, adExplain the parable to us.” 16And he said, aeAre you also still without understanding?
