Isaiah 61:1-3

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

1 aThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has banointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
Or afflicted

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and dthe opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Or  the opening [of the eyes] to those who are blind; Septuagint  and recovery of sight to the blind

2 fto proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
gand the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3to grant to those who mourn in Zion
hto give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
ithe oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
jthat they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, kthat he may be glorified.
Or  that he may display his beauty
