Isaiah 64:5-7

5You meet him who joyfully works righteousness,
those who remember you in your ways.
Behold, you were angry, and we sinned;
in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?
Or  in your ways is continuance, that we might be saved

6 bWe have all become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.
cWe all fade like a leaf,
and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
7 dThere is no one who calls upon your name,
who rouses himself to take hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us,
and have made us melt in
Masoretic Text; Septuagint, Syriac, Targum  have delivered us into
the hand of our iniquities.

Jeremiah 3:25

25 fLet us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For gwe have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”

7 Though our iniquities testify against us,
act, O Lord, hfor your name’s sake;
ifor our backslidings are many;
