Isaiah Sent to King Ahaz

1In the days of aAhaz the son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, bRezin the king of Syria and cPekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not yet mount an attack against it. 2When the house of David was told, dSyria is in league with

3And the Lord said to Isaiah, “Go out to meet Ahaz, you and hShear-jashub
 Shear-jashub means A remnant shall return
your son, at the end of jthe conduit of the upper pool on the highway to the Washer’s Field.
4And say to him, k‘Be careful, lbe quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint because of these two msmoldering stumps of firebrands, at the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria and nthe son of Remaliah. 5Because Syria, with Ephraim and othe son of Remaliah, has devised evil against you, saying, 6“Let us go up against Judah and terrify it, and let us conquer it

for ourselves, and set up the son of Tabeel as king in the midst of it,”

Jeremiah 3:18

18 qIn those days the house of Judah shall join the house of Israel, and together they shall come from the land rof the north to sthe land that I gave your fathers for a heritage.

Ezekiel 37:16-24

16 tSon of man, utake a stick
Or one piece of wood; also verses 17, 19, 20
and write on it, ‘For wJudah, and xthe people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For yJoseph (the stick of zEphraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’
17And aajoin them one to another into one stick, that abthey may become acone in your hand. 18And when adyour people say to you, ae‘Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’ 19say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am about to take afthe stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the agstick of Judah,

20When the sticks on which you write are in your hand akbefore their eyes, 21then say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, alI will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and ambring them to their own land. 22And anI will make them one nation in the land, on aothe mountains of Israel. And apone king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer aqtwo nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. 23 arThey shall not asdefile themselves anymore atwith their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But auI will save them from all the backslidings

Hosea 1:11
