Isaiah 8:7-10

7 therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them ^fthe waters of ^gthe River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it ^hwill rise over all its channels and go over all its banks, 8 and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, ⁱreaching even to the neck, and its ^joutspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, ^kO Immanuel.”

give ear, all you far countries;
strap on your armor and be shattered;

10 Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;

Isaiah 37:31-36

31 And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah ^rshall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. 32 ^sFor out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. ^tThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

33 “Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city or shoot an arrow there or come before it with a shield or ^ucast up a siege mound against it. 34 By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come into this city, declares the Lord. 35 ^vFor I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for ^wthe sake of my servant David.”

36 ^xAnd the angel of the Lord went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

Isaiah 65:8

8 Thus says the Lord:

and they say, ‘Do not destroy it,
for there is a blessing in it,’
so I will do for my servants’ sake,
^zand not destroy them all.

Jeremiah 33:15
