Isaiah 7:7-8

7thus says the Lord God:

and it shall not come to pass.
8For the head of Syria is bDamascus,
and the head of Damascus is Rezin.
And within sixty-five years
Ephraim will be shattered from being a people.

Isaiah 8:4-8

4 cfor before the boy knows how to cry ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the dwealth of eDamascus and the spoil of fSamaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria.”

5The Lord spoke to me again: 6Because this people has refused the waters of gShiloah that flow gently, and rejoice over hRezin and the son of Remaliah, 7therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them ithe waters of jthe River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it kwill rise over all its channels and go over all its banks, 8and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, lreaching even to the neck, and its moutspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, nO Immanuel.”

The Coming Destruction

2 sHear, you peoples, all of you;
Hebrew  all of them

upay attention, O earth, and all that is in it,
and vlet the Lord God be a witness against you,
wthe Lord from his holy temple.
3For behold, xthe Lord is coming out of yhis place,
and will come down and ztread upon the high places of the earth.
4And aathe mountains will melt under him,
and the valleys will split open,
like wax before the fire,
like waters poured down a steep place.
5All this is for abthe transgression of Jacob
and for the sins of the house of Israel.
acWhat is the transgression of Jacob?
Is it not adSamaria?
And what is aethe high place of Judah?
Is it not Jerusalem?
6Therefore I will make afSamaria aga heap in the open country,
a place for planting vineyards,
and I will pour down her stones ahinto the valley
and aiuncover her foundations.
7All ajher carved images shall be beaten to pieces,
akall her wages shall be burned with fire,
and all her idols I will lay waste,
for from althe fee of a prostitute she gathered them,
and to the fee of a prostitute they shall return.
8 amFor this I will lament and wail;
I will go anstripped and naked;
I will make lamentation aolike the jackals,
and mourning aplike the ostriches.
9 aqFor her wound is incurable,
and it has come to Judah;
it has reached to the gate of my people,
to Jerusalem.

Zechariah 1:6

6 arBut my words and my statutes, which I commanded asmy servants the prophets, did they not atovertake your fathers? So they repented and said, au‘As the Lord of hosts purposed to deal with us for avour ways and awdeeds, so has he dealt with us.’”

Zechariah 5:1-4

A Vision of a Flying Scroll

1Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a flying axscroll! 2And he said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying ayscroll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.”
A  cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters
3Then he said to me, “This is bathe curse that goes out over the face of the whole land. For everyone who bbsteals shall be cleaned out according to what is on one side, and everyone who bcswears falsely
Hebrew lacks  falsely (supplied from verse 4)
shall be cleaned out according to what is on the other side.
4I will send it out, declares the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter the house of the thief, and the house of behim who swears falsely by my name. And bfit shall remain in his house and bgconsume it, both timber and stones.”
