Isaiah 8:13-15

13 But the Lord of hosts, ^ahim you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. 14 And he will become a ^bsanctuary and ^ca stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many ^dshall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.”

Isaiah 28:13

13 And the word of the Lord will be to them
precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little,
^ethat they may go, and fall backward,
and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Isaiah 57:14

Comfort for the Contrite

14 And it shall be said,
^f“Build up, build up, prepare the way,
remove every obstruction from my people’s way.”

Matthew 13:21

21 yet he has no root in himself, but ^gendures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately ^hhe falls away. ^{▼▼Or stumbles}

Matthew 24:24

24 For ^jfalse christs and ^kfalse prophets will arise and ^lperform great signs and wonders, ^mso as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

1 Peter 2:6-8

6 For it stands in Scripture:

a cornerstone chosen and precious,

7 So the honor is for you who ^pbelieve, but for those who ^qdo not believe,

They stumble because they disobey the word, ^uas they were destined to do.
