Isaiah 9:14-16

14 So the Lord cut off from Israel ^ahead and tail,
palm branch and reed in one day—
15 ^bthe elder and honored man is the head,
and ^cthe prophet who teaches lies is the tail;
16 for those who guide this people have been leading them astray,
and those who are guided by them are swallowed up.

Isaiah 24:2

2 ^dAnd it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
as with the slave, so with his master;
as with the maid, so with her mistress;
^eas with the buyer, so with the seller;
as with the lender, so with the borrower;
^fas with the creditor, so with the debtor.

Jeremiah 5:31

31 ^gthe prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
^hmy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

Jeremiah 8:10-12

10 ⁱTherefore I will give their wives to others
and their fields to conquerors,
because from the least to the greatest

from prophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.

^mTherefore they shall fall among the fallen;
when I punish them, they shall be overthrown,

declares the Lord.
12 ^pTherefore their way shall be to them
like slippery paths ^qin the darkness,
into which they shall be driven and fall,
for I will bring disaster upon them

declares the Lord.

Ezekiel 22:26-31

26 ^sHer priests ^thave done violence to my law and ^uhave profaned my holy things. ^vThey have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and ^wthey have disregarded my Sabbaths, ^xso that I am profaned among them. 27 ^yHer princes in her midst are like wolves ^ztearing the prey, ^aashedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain. 28 And ^abher prophets have smeared whitewash for them, ^acseeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken. 29 The people of the land ^adhave practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and ^aehave extorted from the sojourner without justice. 30 ^afAnd I sought for a man among them ^agwho should build up the wall ^ahand stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. 31 Therefore ^aiI have poured out my indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned ^ajtheir way upon their heads, declares the Lord God.”
