James 5:1-6
Warning to the Rich
1Come now, ayou rich, weep and howl for the bmiseries that are coming upon you. 2 cYour riches have rotted and dyour garments are moth-eaten. 3Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. eYou have laid up treasure fin the last days. 4Behold, gthe wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and hthe cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of ithe Lord of hosts. 5 jYou have lived on the earth in luxury and kin self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in la day of slaughter. 6You have condemned and mmurdered nthe righteous person. He does not resist you.Revelation of John 3:17-18
17 oFor you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, pblind, and naked. 18I counsel you qto buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and rwhite garments so that you may clothe yourself and sthe shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, tso that you may see.
