James 5:10-11

10As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take athe prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of bthe steadfastness of Job, and you have seen cthe purpose of the Lord, how dthe Lord is compassionate and merciful.

1 Peter 4:12-13

Suffering as a Christian

12Beloved, do not be surprised at ethe fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13But rejoice finsofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad gwhen his glory is revealed.

Revelation of John 7:14-17

14I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of hthe great tribulation. iThey have washed their robes and jmade them white kin the blood of the Lamb.

15 Therefore they are before the throne of God,
and lserve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne mwill shelter them with his presence.
16 nThey shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
othe sun shall not strike them,
nor any scorching heat.
17For the Lamb in the midst of the throne pwill be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of qliving water,
and rGod will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
