10See, I have set you this day aover nations and over kingdoms,bto pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”

14Thus says the Lord concerning all cmy evil neighbors dwho touch the heritage that eI have given my people Israel to inherit: “Behold, I will pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them. 15And after I have plucked them up, I will again have compassion on them, fand I will bring them again each to his heritage and each to his land. 16And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, gto swear by my name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, hthen they shall be built up in the midst of my people. 17 iBut if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, declares the Lord.”Jeremiah 25:9-14
9 jbehold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, kmy servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, land make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation. 10Moreover, mI will banish from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, nthe grinding of the millstones and othe light of the lamp. 11 pThis whole land shall become a ruin and a waste, and qthese nations shall serve the king of Babylon rseventy years. 12Then after sseventy years are completed, tI will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, uthe land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, declares the Lord, vmaking the land an everlasting waste. 13I will bring upon that land all the words that I have uttered against it, everything written win this book, which Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations. 14 xFor many nations yand great kings shall make slaves even of them, zand I will recompense them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”Jeremiah 45:4
