Jeremiah 1:11-14
11And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, a“Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond ▼▼ Almond sounds like the Hebrew for watching (compare verse 12)
branch.” 12Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” 13The word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see ca boiling pot, facing away dfrom the north.” 14Then the Lord said to me, e“Out of the north disaster ▼
▼The Hebrew word can mean evil, harm, or disaster, depending on the context; so throughout Jeremiah
shall be let loose upon all the inhabitants of the land. Ezekiel 2:9
9And when I looked, behold, ga hand was stretched out to me, and behold, ha scroll of a book was in it.Amos 7:4-7
4 iThis is what the Lord God showed me: behold, the Lord God was calling jfor a judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land. 5Then I said,“O Lord God, please cease!
kHow can Jacob stand?
He is so small!”
6 lThe Lord relented concerning this:
“This also shall not be,” said the Lord God.
7 mThis is what he showed me: behold, the Lord was standing beside a wall built with na plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.
Amos 8:2
2And he said, o“Amos, what do you see?” And I said, p“A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me,q“The end ▼ has come upon my people Israel;
I will never again pass by them.
