11 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ^a“Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond ^{▼▼ Almond sounds like the Hebrew for watching (compare verse 12)} branch.” 12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

13 The word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see ^ca boiling pot, facing away ^dfrom the north.” 14 Then the Lord said to me, ^e“Out of the north disaster ^{▼▼The Hebrew word can mean evil, harm, or disaster, depending on the context; so throughout Jeremiah} shall be let loose upon all the inhabitants of the land.

Ezekiel 8:6

6 And he said to me, “Son of man, ^gdo you see what they are doing, ^hthe great abominations that the house of Israel are committing here, ⁱto drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see still greater abominations.”

Ezekiel 8:12

12 Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing ^jin the dark, each ^kin his room of pictures? For they say, ^l‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.’”

Ezekiel 8:17

17 Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, O ^mson of man? Is it too light a thing for the house of Judah to commit ⁿthe abominations that they commit here, that ^othey should fill the land with violence and ^pprovoke me still further to anger? Behold, they put the branch to their ^{▼▼Or my} nose.

Amos 7:8

8 And the Lord said to me, ^r“Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said,

“Behold, I am setting ^sa plumb line
in the midst of my people Israel;

Zechariah 1:18-21

A Vision of Horns and Craftsmen

And these have come ^zto terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations ^aawho lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it.”

Zechariah 5:2

2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying ^abscroll. Its length is twenty cubits, and its width ten cubits.” ^{▼▼A cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters}

A Vision of a Woman in a Basket

5 ^adThen the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, ^ae“Lift your eyes and see what this is that is going out.” 6 And I said, “What is it?” He said, “This is ^afthe basket ^{▼▼Hebrew ephah; also verses 7–11. An ephah was about 3/5 bushel or 22 liters} that is going out.” And he said, “This is their iniquity ^{▼▼One Hebrew manuscript, Septuagint, Syriac; most Hebrew manuscripts eye} in all the land.”
