Jeremiah 1:13-15

13The word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see aa boiling pot, facing away bfrom the north.” 14Then the Lord said to me, cOut of the north disaster
The Hebrew word can mean evil, harm, or  disaster, depending on the context; so throughout Jeremiah
shall be let loose upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15For behold, eI am calling all the tribes of the kingdoms of the north, declares the Lord, fand they shall come, and every one shall set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, against all its walls all around and against all the cities of Judah.

Jeremiah 6:1

Impending Disaster for Jerusalem

1 Flee for safety, gO people of Benjamin,
from the midst of Jerusalem!
Blow the trumpet in hTekoa,
and raise a signal on iBeth-haccherem,
for disaster looms jout of the north,
and great destruction.

Jeremiah 6:22

22 Thus says the Lord:
kBehold, a people is coming lfrom the north country,
a great nation is stirring from mthe farthest parts of the earth.

Jeremiah 21:7

7Afterward, declares the Lord, nI will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people in this city who survive the pestilence, sword, and famine into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies, into the hand of those who seek their lives. He shall strike them down with the edge of the sword. oHe shall not pity them or spare them or have compassion.’

Jeremiah 25:9

9 pbehold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, qmy servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, rand make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.
