Jeremiah 13:27

27I have seen ayour abominations,
your adulteries and bneighings, your lewd whorings,
con the hills in the field.
Woe to you, O Jerusalem!
How long will it be dbefore you are made clean?”

Matthew 18:7

Temptations to Sin

7Woe to the world for etemptations to sin!
Greek stumbling blocks
gFor it is necessary that temptations come, hbut woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!

Matthew 23:13-29

13But woe ito you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you jshut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you kneither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.
Some manuscripts add here (or after verse 12) verse 14: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive the greater condemnation
15Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single mproselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a nchild of ohell
Greek Gehenna; also verse 33
as yourselves.

16Woe to qyou, rblind guides, who say, sIf anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ 17You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or tthe temple that has made the gold sacred? 18And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by uthe gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’ 19You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or vthe altar that makes the gift sacred? 20So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by whim who dwells in it. 22And whoever swears by xheaven swears by ythe throne of God and by zhim who sits upon it.

23 aaWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For abyou tithe mint and dill and accumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: adjustice and mercy and faithfulness. aeThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 24You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing afa camel!

25 agWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ahyou clean the outside of aithe cup and the plate, but inside they are full of ajgreed and self-indulgence. 26You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of akthe cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

27 alWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like amwhitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and anall uncleanness. 28So you also aooutwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of aphypocrisy and lawlessness.

29 aqWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous,

Matthew 26:24

24The Son of Man goes aras it is written of him, but aswoe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! atIt would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”

Luke 11:42-52

42 auBut woe to you Pharisees! For avyou tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect awjustice and axthe love of God. ayThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 43Woe to you Pharisees! For azyou love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces. 44Woe to you! baFor you are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without knowing it.”

45One of bbthe lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.” 46And he said, Woe to you bclawyers also! For bdyou load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers. 47 beWoe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed. 48 bfSo you are witnesses and you bgconsent to the deeds of bhyour fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs. 49Therefore also bithe Wisdom of God said, bj‘I will send them bkprophets and apostles, blsome of whom they will bmkill and persecute,’ 50so that bnthe blood of all the prophets, shed bofrom the foundation of the world, may be bpcharged against this generation, 51from the blood of bqAbel to the blood of brZechariah, who perished between bsthe altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be btrequired of this generation. 52Woe to you bulawyers! bvFor you have taken away the key of bwknowledge. You bxdid not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”

Jude 11

11Woe to them! For they walked in bythe way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain bzto Balaam’s error and caperished in Korah’s rebellion.
