Jeremiah 14:12-13

12Though they fast, I will not hear their cry, aand though they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them bby the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.”

Lying Prophets

13Then I said: “Ah, Lord God, behold, the prophets csay to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’”

Jeremiah 15:2-4

2And when they ask you, ‘Where shall we go?’ you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord:

d“‘Those who are for pestilence, to pestilence,
and those who are for the sword, to the sword;
those who are for famine, to famine,
and those who are for captivity, to captivity.’
3 eI will appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the Lord: the sword to kill, the dogs to tear, and fthe birds of the air gand the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy. 4 hAnd I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of what iManasseh the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, did in Jerusalem.

Lamentations 2:21

21 In the dust of the streets

have fallen by the sword;
lyou have killed them in the day of your anger,

Ezekiel 5:17

17I will send famine and nwild beasts against you, oand they will rob you of your children. Pestilence and pblood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I am the Lord; I have spoken.”

Ezekiel 6:3

3and say, qYou mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to rthe mountains and sthe hills, to tthe ravines and the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, uand I will destroy your high places.

Ezekiel 14:17

17Or vif I bring a sword upon that land and say, Let a sword pass through the land, wand I cut off from it man and beast,

Ezekiel 21:4-17

4Because I will cut off from you both righteous and wicked, therefore my sword shall be drawn from its sheath against all flesh from south to north. 5 xAnd all flesh shall know that I am the Lord. I have drawn ymy sword from its sheath; zit shall not be sheathed again.

6“As for you, son of man, aagroan; with breaking heart and bitter grief, abgroan before their eyes. 7 acAnd when they say to you, ‘Why do you groan?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news adthat it is coming. aeEvery heart will melt, and afall hands will be feeble; every spirit will faint, and agall knees will be weak as water. ahBehold, it is aicoming, and it will be fulfilled,’” declares the Lord God.

8And the word of the Lord came to me: 9 ajSon of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord, say:

and also polished,
10 alsharpened for slaughter,
ampolished to flash like lightning!
(Or anshall we rejoice? You have despised the rod, my son, aowith everything of wood.)

11So the sword is given to be polished, that it may be grasped in the hand. It is sharpened and polished aqto be given into the hand of the slayer. 12 arCry out and wail, son of man, for it is against my people. It is against all the princes of Israel. They are delivered over to the sword with my people. asStrike therefore upon your thigh. 13For it will not be a testingwhat could it do if you despise atthe rod?”
Or  For it is a testing; and what if even the rod despises? It shall not be!
declares the Lord God.

14“As for you, avson of man, prophesy. awClap your hands and let the sword come down twice, axyes, three times,

the sword for those to be slain. It is the sword for the great slaughter, which surrounds them,
15that their hearts may melt, and many stumble.
Hebrew  many stumbling blocks
At all their gates I have given the glittering sword. Ah, it is made like lightning; bait is taken up
The meaning of the Hebrew word rendered  taken up is uncertain
for slaughter.
16Cut sharply to the right; set yourself to the left, wherever your face is directed. 17I also will bcclap my hands, bdand I will satisfy my fury; beI the Lord have spoken.”

Ezekiel 29:8

8Therefore thus says the Lord God: bfBehold, I will bring a sword upon you, and will cut off from you man and beast,
