Jeremiah 15:1-2

The Lord Will Not Relent

1Then the Lord said to me, a“Though bMoses cand Samuel dstood before me, yet my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go! 2And when they ask you, ‘Where shall we go?’ you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord:

e“‘Those who are for pestilence, to pestilence,
and those who are for the sword, to the sword;
those who are for famine, to famine,
and those who are for captivity, to captivity.’

Ezekiel 15:2-5

2 fSon of man, how does gthe wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? 3Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take ha peg from it to hang any vessel on it? 4 iBehold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything? 5 jBehold, when it was whole, it was used for nothing. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it ever be used for anything!

Matthew 3:10

10Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. kEvery tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 5:13

Salt and Light

13You are the salt of the earth, lbut if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

Luke 14:34-35

Salt Without Taste Is Worthless

34 mSalt is good, nbut if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? 35It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. oHe who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

John 15:6

6If anyone does not abide in me phe is thrown away like a branch and withers; qand the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.

Titus 3:14

14And let our people learn rto devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not sbe unfruitful.
