2 And when they ask you, ‘Where shall we go?’ you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord:

^a“‘Those who are for pestilence, to pestilence,
and those who are for the sword, to the sword;
those who are for famine, to famine,
and those who are for captivity, to captivity.’
3 ^bI will appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the Lord: the sword to kill, the dogs to tear, and ^cthe birds of the air ^dand the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.

Jeremiah 24:8-10

8 “But thus says the Lord: Like ^ethe bad figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten, so will I treat ^fZedekiah the king of Judah, his officials, the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who ^gdwell in the land of Egypt. 9 I will make them ^ha horror ^{▼▼Compare Septuagint; Hebrew horror for evil} to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be ^ja reproach, ^ka byword, ^la taunt, and ^ma curse in all the places where I shall drive them. 10 And I will send ⁿsword, famine, and pestilence upon them, until they shall be utterly destroyed from the land that I gave to them and their fathers.”

Jeremiah 29:18

18 I will pursue them with ^osword, famine, and pestilence, ^pand will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, ^qto be a curse, a terror, a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations ^rwhere I have driven them,

Jeremiah 34:17-22

17 “Therefore, thus says the Lord: You have not obeyed me ^sby proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and to his neighbor; ^tbehold, I proclaim to you liberty ^uto the sword, to pestilence, and to famine, declares the Lord. ^vI will make you a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 18 And the men who transgressed my covenant and did not keep the terms of ^wthe covenant that they made before me, I will make them like ^{▼▼Hebrew lacks them like} ^ythe calf that they cut in two and passed between its parts— 19 the officials of Judah, the officials of Jerusalem, ^zthe eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf. 20 And I will give them into the hand of their enemies ^aaand into the hand of those who seek their lives. ^abTheir dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth. 21 And ^acZedekiah king of Judah and his officials I will give into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their lives, into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon ^adwhich has withdrawn from you. 22 Behold, ^aeI will command, declares the Lord, and will ^afbring them back to this city. ^agAnd they will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire. ^ahI will make the cities of Judah a desolation ^aiwithout inhabitant.”

Jeremiah 43:11

11 He shall come ^ajand strike the land of Egypt, ^akgiving over to the pestilence those who are doomed to the pestilence, to captivity those who are doomed to captivity, and to the sword those who are doomed to the sword.

Jeremiah 52:6

6 On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.

Ezekiel 5:12-17

12 ^alA third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in your midst; ^ama third part shall fall by the sword all around you; ^anand a third part I will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them.

13 ^ao“Thus shall my anger spend itself, and I will vent my fury upon them and satisfy myself. And they shall know that ^apI am the Lord—that I have spoken in my jealousy— ^aqwhen I spend my fury upon them. 14 Moreover, I will make you ^ara desolation and ^asan object of reproach among ^atthe nations all around you and in the sight of all who pass by. 15 You shall be ^{▼▼Dead Sea Scroll, Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate, Targum; Masoretic Text And it shall be} a reproach and a taunt, a warning ^avand a horror, to ^awthe nations all around you, ^axwhen I execute judgments on you in anger and fury, and ^aywith furious rebukes—I am the Lord; I have spoken— 16 when I send against you ^{▼▼Hebrew them} ^bathe deadly arrows of famine, arrows for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, and when I bring more and more famine upon ^bbyou and break your supply ^{▼▼Hebrew staff} of bread. 17 I will send famine and ^bdwild beasts against you, ^beand they will rob you of your children. Pestilence and ^bfblood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I am the Lord; I have spoken.”

Ezekiel 14:12-21

Jerusalem Will Not Be Spared

12 And the word of the Lord came to me: 13 ^bg“Son of man, when a land sins against me ^bhby acting faithlessly, and I stretch out my hand against it and ^bibreak its supply ^{▼▼Hebrew staff} of bread and send famine upon it, and ^bkcut off from it man and beast, 14 ^bleven if these three men, ^bmNoah, ^bnDaniel, and ^boJob, were in it, ^bpthey would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, declares the Lord God.

15 ^bq“If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, ^brand it be made desolate, so that no one may pass through because of the beasts, 16 even if these three men were in it, ^bsas I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They alone would be delivered, but ^btthe land would be desolate.

17 “Or ^buif I bring a sword upon that land and say, Let a sword pass through the land, ^bvand I cut off from it man and beast, 18 ^bwthough these three men were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they alone would be delivered.

19 “Or ^bxif I send a pestilence into that land and pour out my wrath upon it with blood, to cut off from it man and beast, 20 even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter. They would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness.

21 “For thus says the Lord God: How much more ^bywhen I send upon Jerusalem my four disastrous acts of judgment, ^bzsword, ^cafamine, ^cbwild beasts, and ^ccpestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!
