Jeremiah 2:12-13

12 Be appalled, ^aO heavens, at this;
be shocked, be utterly desolate,

declares the Lord,
13 for my people have committed two evils:
^bthey have forsaken ^cme,
the fountain of ^dliving waters,
and hewed out cisterns for themselves,
broken cisterns that can hold no water.

Jeremiah 5:30-31

30 An appalling and ^ehorrible thing
has happened in the land:
31 ^fthe prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
^gmy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

Jeremiah 18:13

13 “Therefore thus says the Lord:
^hAsk among the nations,
Who has heard the like of this?
The virgin Israel
has done ⁱa very horrible thing.

Jeremiah 23:14

14 But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
^jthey commit adultery and walk in lies;
