Jeremiah 2:19

19 aYour evil will chastise you,
and byour apostasy will reprove you.
Know and see that it is evil and cbitter
for dyou to forsake the Lord your God;
the fear of me is not in you,

declares the Lord God of hosts.

Jeremiah 2:28-30

28But ewhere are your gods
that you made for yourself?
Let them arise, fif they can save you,
in your time of trouble;
for gas many as your cities
are your gods, O Judah.
29 Why do you contend with me?
You have all transgressed against me,

declares the Lord.
30In vain have I hstruck your children;
they took no correction;
iyour own sword devoured your prophets
like a ravening lion.

Jeremiah 5:6-9

6 Therefore ja lion from the forest shall strike them down;
a kwolf from the desert shall devastate them.
lA leopard is watching their cities;
everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces,
because their transgressions are many,
their mapostasies are great.
7 nHow can I pardon you?
Your children have forsaken me
oand have sworn by those who are no gods.
pWhen I fed them to the full,
qthey committed adultery
rand trooped to the houses of whores.
8They were well-fed, lusty stallions,
seach neighing tfor his neighbor’s wife.
9 uShall I not punish them for these things?

declares the Lord;
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?

Jeremiah 5:25-31

25 vYour iniquities have turned these away,
and your sins have kept good from you.
26For wicked men are found among my people;
wthey lurk like fowlers lying in wait.
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain

yThey set a trap;
they catch men.
27Like a cage full of birds,
their houses are full of deceit;
therefore they have become great and rich;
28 zthey have grown fat and sleek.
They know no bounds in deeds of evil;
aathey judge not with justice
the cause of the fatherless, to make it prosper,
and they do not defend the rights of the needy.
29 abShall I not punish them for these things?

declares the Lord,
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?”
30 An appalling and achorrible thing
has happened in the land:
31 adthe prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
aemy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

Jeremiah 6:6-7

6 For thus says the Lord of hosts:
af“Cut down her trees;
agcast up a siege mound against Jerusalem.
This is the city that must be ahpunished;
there is nothing but oppression within her.
7 aiAs a well keeps its water fresh,
so she keeps fresh her evil;
ajviolence and destruction are heard within her;
sickness and wounds are ever before me.

Jeremiah 6:13

13 akFor from the least to the greatest of them,
everyone alis greedy for unjust gain;
and from amprophet to priest,
everyone deals falsely.

Jeremiah 7:8-11

8Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. 9 anWill you steal, murder, commit adultery, aoswear falsely, apmake offerings to Baal, aqand go after other gods that you have not known, 10and then come and stand before me in this house, arwhich is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations? 11 asHas this house, atwhich is called by my name, aubecome a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 9:1-9

1
Ch 8:23 in Hebrew
awOh that my head were waters,
and my eyes a fountain of tears,
that I might weep day and night
for the slain of axthe daughter of my people!
2
Ch 9:1 in Hebrew
Oh that I had in the desert
a travelerslodging place,
that I might leave my people
and go away from them!
For they are all azadulterers,
a company of batreacherous men.
3 bbThey bend their tongue like a bow;
falsehood and not truth has grown strong
Septuagint; Hebrew  and not for truth they have grown strong
in the land;
for they proceed from evil to evil,
bdand they do not know me, declares the Lord.
4 beLet everyone beware of his neighbor,
and put no trust in any brother,
for every bfbrother is a deceiver,
and every neighbor bggoes about as a slanderer.
5Everyone deceives his neighbor,
and no one speaks the truth;
they have taught their tongue to speak lies;
they weary themselves committing iniquity.
6Heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit,
bhthey refuse to know me, declares the Lord.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts:
Behold, biI will refine them and bjtest them,
for what else can I do, bkbecause of my people?
8 blTheir tongue is a deadly arrow;
bmit speaks deceitfully;
with his mouth bneach speaks peace to his neighbor,
but in his heart bohe plans an ambush for him.
9 bpShall I not punish them for these things? declares the Lord,
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?

Jeremiah 11:13

13 bqFor your gods have become as many as your cities, O Judah, and as many as the streets of Jerusalem are the altars you have set up to shame, braltars to make offerings to Baal.

Jeremiah 30:14

14 bsAll your lovers have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you;
for I have dealt you the blow of btan enemy,
the punishment buof a merciless foe,
because your guilt is great,
bvbecause your sins are flagrant.
