30 An appalling and fhorrible thing

hmy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

The Righteous Branch

1 mWoe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. 2Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning nthe shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. oBehold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord.

Ezekiel 34:2-10

2 pSon of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord God: qAh, shepherds of Israel rwho have been feeding yourselves! sShould not shepherds feed the sheep? 3 tYou eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, uyou slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep. 4 vThe weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, wthe injured you have not bound up, xthe strayed you have not brought back, ythe lost you have not sought, and with force and zharshness you have ruled them. 5 aaSo they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and abthey became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered; 6they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, acwith none to search or seek for them.

7Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8 adAs I live, declares the Lord God, surely because aemy sheep have become a prey, and my sheep have become food for all the wild beasts, since there was no shepherd, and because my shepherds have not searched for my sheep, but the shepherds have fed themselves, and have not fed my sheep, 9therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10Thus says the Lord God, afBehold, I am against the shepherds, and agI will require my sheep at their hand and ahput a stop to their feeding the sheep. aiNo longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. ajI will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.

Zechariah 11:8

8In one month akI destroyed the three shepherds. But I became impatient with them, and they also detested me.

Zechariah 11:17

17 alWoe to my worthless shepherd,
amwho deserts the flock!
May the sword strike his arm
and anhis right eye!
Let his arm be wholly withered,
his right eye utterly blinded!”
