Jeremiah 21:4-7

4Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: aBehold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands and with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls. bAnd I will bring them together into the midst of this city. 5I myself will fight against you cwith outstretched hand and strong arm, din anger and in fury and in great wrath. 6And I will strike down the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast. They shall die of a great pestilence. 7Afterward, declares the Lord, eI will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people in this city who survive the pestilence, sword, and famine into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies, into the hand of those who seek their lives. He shall strike them down with the edge of the sword. fHe shall not pity them or spare them or have compassion.’

Jeremiah 27:8

8“‘“But if any nation or kingdom will not serve this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, gand put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, I will punish that nation hwith the sword, with famine, and with pestilence, declares the Lord, until I have consumed it by his hand.

Jeremiah 32:28-29

28Therefore, thus says the Lord: iBehold, I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it. 29The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city jshall come and set this city on fire and burn it, kwith the houses on whose roofs offerings have been made to Baal land drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, mto provoke me to anger.

Jeremiah 34:2-3

2“Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Go and speak to nZedekiah king of Judah and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: oBehold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire. 3 pYou shall not escape from his hand but shall surely be captured and delivered into his hand. qYou shall see the king of Babylon eye to eye and speak with him face to face. And you shall go to Babylon.’

Jeremiah 37:6-10

6Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet: 7Thus says the Lord, God of Israel: Thus shall you say to the king of Judah who rsent you to me to inquire of me, ‘Behold, sPharaoh’s army that came to help you is about to treturn to Egypt, to its own land. 8And uthe Chaldeans shall come back and fight against this city. vThey shall capture it and burn it with fire. 9Thus says the Lord, Do not deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely go away from us,” for they will not go away. 10 wFor even if you should defeat the whole army of Chaldeans who are fighting against you, and there remained of them only wounded men, every man in his tent, they would rise up and xburn this city with fire.’”

Jeremiah 38:8
