Jeremiah 22:10-12

10 aWeep not for him who is dead,
nor grieve for him,
bbut weep bitterly for him who goes away,
for he shall return no more
to see his native land.

Message to the Sons of Josiah

11For thus says the Lord concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and cwho went away from this place: “He shall return here no more, 12but din the place where they have carried him captive, there shall he die, and he shall never see this land again.”

Jeremiah 22:18-19

18Therefore thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

e“They shall not lament for him, saying,
fAh, my brother!’ or ‘Ah, sister!’
They shall not lament for him, saying,
gAh, lord!’ or ‘Ah, his majesty!’
19With the burial of a donkey hhe shall be buried,
dragged and dumped beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”

Jeremiah 22:28

28 Is this man iConiah a despised, broken pot,
a jvessel no one cares for?
Why are he and his children hurled and cast
into a kland that they do not know?

Jeremiah 22:30

30Thus says the Lord:
Write this man down as lchildless,
a man who shall not succeed in his days,
mfor none of his offspring shall succeed
nin sitting on the throne of David
and ruling again in Judah.”

Jeremiah 24:1

The Good Figs and the Bad Figs

1 oAfter Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken into exile from Jerusalem pJeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, together with qthe officials of Judah, the craftsmen, and the metal workers, and had brought them to Babylon, the Lord showed me this vision: behold, rtwo baskets of figs placed before the temple of the Lord.

Jeremiah 24:8

8But thus says the Lord: Like sthe bad figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten, so will I treat tZedekiah the king of Judah, his officials, the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who udwell in the land of Egypt.

Jeremiah 52:10-11

10The king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and also slaughtered all the officials of Judah at vRiblah. 11 wHe put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in chains, and the king of Babylon took him to Babylon, and put him in prison xtill the day of his death.

Jeremiah 52:25-27

25and from the city he took an officer who had been in command of the men of war, and yseven men of the king’s council, who were found in the city; and the secretary of the commander of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city. 26And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at zRiblah. 27And the king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death at aaRiblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken into exile out of its land.

Lamentations 4:20

20 abThe breath of our nostrils, acthe Lord’s anointed,
was captured adin their pits,
of whom we said, ae“Under his shadow
we shall live among the nations.”

Lamentations 5:12

12 afPrinces are hung up by their hands;
agno respect is shown to the elders.
