Jeremiah 22:13-17

13 aWoe to him who builds his house by bunrighteousness,
and his upper rooms by injustice,
cwho makes his neighbor serve him for nothing
and does not give him his wages,
14who says, ‘I will build myself a great house
with spacious upper rooms,’
who cuts out windows for it,
paneling it with cedar
and dpainting it with vermilion.
15Do you think you are a king
because you compete in cedar?
Did not your father eat and drink
and edo justice and righteousness?
fThen it was well with him.
16 gHe judged the cause of the poor and needy;
hthen it was well.
Is not this ito know me?
declares the Lord.
17But you have eyes and heart
only for your dishonest gain,
jfor shedding innocent blood,
and for practicing oppression and violence.”

But when Uriah heard of it, he was afraid and fled and escaped to Egypt. 22Then mKing Jehoiakim sent to Egypt certain men, nElnathan the son of oAchbor and others with him, 23and they took Uriah from Egypt and brought him to King Jehoiakim, pwho struck him down with the sword and dumped his dead body into the burial place of the common people.

Jeremiah 36:23-26

23As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire pot. 24Yet qneither the king nor any of his servants who heard all these words was afraid, rnor did they tear their garments. 25Even when sElnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah turged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them. 26And the king commanded Jerahmeel the uking’s son and Seraiah the son of Azriel and vShelemiah the son of Abdeel to seize wBaruch the secretary and Jeremiah the prophet, but the Lord hid them.

Jeremiah 36:31

31 xAnd I will punish him and his offspring and his servants for their iniquity. I will bring upon them and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem and upon the people of Judah all the disaster that I have pronounced against them, but they would not hear.’”

Ezekiel 19:5-9

5When she saw that she waited in vain,
that her hope was lost,
yshe took another of her cubs
and made him a young lion.
6He prowled among the lions;
he became a young lion,
and he learned to catch prey;
he devoured men,
7and seized

their widows.
He laid waste their cities,
and the land was appalled and all who were in it
at the sound of his roaring.
8 aaThen the nations set against him
from provinces on every side;
abthey spread their net over him;
ache was taken in their pit.
9With hooks adthey put him in a cage
Or  in a wooden collar

and afbrought him to the king of Babylon;
they brought him into custody,
that his voice should no more be heard
on agthe mountains of Israel.
