10When athe officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the house of the Lord and took their seat in the bentry of the New Gate of the house of the Lord.

Jeremiah 36:24-25

24Yet lneither the king nor any of his servants who heard all these words was afraid, mnor did they tear their garments. 25Even when nElnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah ourged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.

Jeremiah 38:4

4Then the officials said to the king, pLet this man be put to death, qfor he is weakening the hands of the soldiers who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking rthe welfare of this people, but their harm.”
