15Only know for certain that if you put me to death, ayou will bring innocent blood upon yourselves and upon this city and its inhabitants, for in truth the Lord sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.”

Jeremiah 38:6-9

Jeremiah Rescued from the Cistern

7When gEbed-melech hthe Ethiopian, ia eunuch who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern—the king was sitting jin the Benjamin Gate 8 kEbed-melech went from the king’s house and said to the king, 9“My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they did to Jeremiah the prophet by casting him into the cistern, and he will die there of lhunger, mfor there is no bread left in the city.”

Acts 23:16-22

16Now the son of Paul’s sister heard of their ambush, so he went and entered nthe barracks and told Paul. 17Paul called one of the centurions and said, “Take this young man to the tribune, for he has something to tell him.” 18So he took him and brought him to the tribune and said, “Paul othe prisoner called me and asked me to bring this young man to you, as he has something to say to you.” 19The tribune took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?” 20And he said, p“The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more closely about him. 21But do not be persuaded by them, for more than forty of their men are lying in ambush for him, who qhave bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now they are ready, waiting for your consent.” 22So the tribune dismissed the young man, charging him, “Tell no one that you have informed me of these things.”

Acts 25:10-11

10But Paul said, “I am standing before Caesar’s rtribunal, where I ought to be tried. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you yourself know very well. 11If then I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything for which I deserve to die, I do not seek to escape death. But if there is nothing to their charges against me, no one can give me up to them. sI appeal to Caesar.”

Acts 28:18-19

18When they had examined me, they twished to set me at liberty, ubecause there was no reason for the death penalty in my case. 19But because the Jews objected, I was compelled vto appeal to Caesarthough I had no charge to bring against wmy nation.
