9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be ^clike Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, ^dwithout inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

Jeremiah 26:18

18 “Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and said to all the people of Judah: ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts,

^e“‘Zion shall be plowed as a field;
Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins,
and the mountain of the house a wooded height.’

Lamentations 2:6-8

6 He has laid waste his booth like a garden,
laid in ruins ^fhis meeting place;
^gthe Lord has made Zion forget
festival and ^hSabbath,
and in his fierce indignation has spurned king and priest.
7 ⁱThe Lord has scorned his altar,
^jdisowned his sanctuary;
^khe has delivered into the hand of the enemy
the walls of her palaces;
^lthey raised a clamor in the house of the Lord
as on the day of festival.
8 ^mThe Lord determined to lay in ruins
ⁿthe wall of the daughter of Zion;
^ohe stretched out the measuring line;
he did not restrain his hand from destroying;
^phe caused rampart and wall to lament;
^qthey languished together.

Lamentations 4:1

The Holy Stones Lie Scattered

1 ^rHow the gold has grown dim,
how the pure gold is changed!
The holy stones lie scattered
^sat the head of every street.

Lamentations 5:18

18 for Mount Zion which lies desolate;
^tjackals prowl over it.

Ezekiel 7:20-22

20 ^uHis beautiful ornament they used for pride, and ^vthey made their abominable images and their detestable things of it. Therefore ^wI make it an unclean thing to them. 21 And I will give it into the hands of ^xforeigners for prey, ^yand to the wicked of the earth for spoil, and ^zthey shall profane it. 22 I will turn my face from them, and ^aathey shall profane my treasured ^{▼▼Or secret} place. Robbers shall enter ^acand profane it.

Daniel 9:26-27

26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall ^adbe cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come ^aeshall destroy the city and the sanctuary. ^afIts ^{▼▼Or His} end shall come with a flood, ^ahand to the end there shall be war. ^aiDesolations are decreed. 27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, ^{▼▼Or seven; twice in this verse} and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. ^akAnd on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until ^althe decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
