Jeremiah 27:14-16

14 aDo not listen to the words of the prophets who are saying to you, ‘You shall not serve the king of Babylon,’ bfor it is a lie that they are prophesying to you. 15I have not sent them, declares the Lord, but cthey are prophesying falsely in my name, with the result that I will drive you out and you will perish, you and the prophets who are prophesying to you.”

16Then I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, “Thus says the Lord: dDo not listen to the words of your prophets who are prophesying to you, saying, eBehold, the vessels of the Lord’s house will now shortly be brought back from Babylon,’ ffor it is a lie that they are prophesying to you.

Jeremiah 28:15

15And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, gthe Lord has not sent you, hand you have made this people trust in a lie.

Jeremiah 29:8-9

8For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: iDo not let your prophets and jyour diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream,
Hebrew your dreams, which you cause to dream
9for lit is a lie that they are prophesying to you in my name; mI did not send them, declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 37:19

19 nWhere are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you and against this land’?

Ezekiel 13:2-16

2 oSon of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel, who are prophesying, and say to those pwho prophesy from their own hearts: ‘Hear the word of the Lord!’ 3Thus says the Lord God, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 4Your prophets have been like jackals among ruins, O Israel. 5 qYou have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the Lord. 6 rThey have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘Declares the Lord,’ swhen the Lord has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfill their word. 7Have you not seen a false vision and uttered a lying divination, twhenever you have said, ‘Declares the Lord,’ although I have not spoken?”

8Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have uttered falsehood and seen lying visions, therefore behold, uI am against you, declares the Lord God. 9My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who give lying divinations. They shall not be in the council of my people, vnor be enrolled in the register of the house of Israel, wnor shall they enter the land of Israel. xAnd you shall know that I am the Lord God. 10Precisely because they have misled my people, ysaying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, zthese prophets smear it with whitewash,
Or plaster; also verses 11, 14, 15
11say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! abThere will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out. 12And when the wall falls, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the coating with which you smeared it?’ 13Therefore thus says the Lord God: acI will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath, adand there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to make a full end. 14And I will break down the wall that you have smeared with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it, aeand you shall know that I am the Lord. 15Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall and upon those who have smeared it with whitewash, and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who smeared it, 16the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem afand saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, declares the Lord God.

Micah 2:11

11If a man should go about and agutter wind and lies,
saying, “I will preach to you ahof wine and strong drink,”
he would be the preacher for this people!

Micah 3:5-7

5 Thus says the Lord concerning aithe prophets
who lead my people astray,
ajwho cryPeace
when they have something to eat,
but declare war against him
who puts nothing into their mouths.
6Therefore akit shall be night to you, without vision,
and darkness to you, without divination.
alThe sun shall go down on the prophets,
and the day shall be black over them;
7 amthe seers shall be disgraced,
and the diviners put to shame;
anthey shall all cover their lips,
for aothere is no answer from God.
