Jeremiah 3:21-25

21 A voice on the abare heights is heard,
bthe weeping and pleading of Israel’s sons
because they have perverted their way;
they have forgotten the Lord their God.
22 cReturn, O faithless sons;
dI will heal your faithlessness.”
Behold, we come to you,
for you are the Lord our God.
23Truly ethe hills are a delusion,
the orgies
Hebrew commotion
on the mountains.
gTruly in the Lord our God
is the salvation of Israel.
24“But from our youth the shameful thing has devoured all for which our fathers labored, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. 25 hLet us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For iwe have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”

Jeremiah 31:18-19

18I have heard jEphraim grieving,
‘You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined,
like an untrained calf;
kbring me back that I may be restored,
for you are the Lord my God.
19For after lI had turned away, I relented,
and after I was instructed, mI struck my thigh;
nI was ashamed, and I was confounded,
because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’

Zechariah 12:10

Him Whom They Have Pierced

10“And oI will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and ppleas for mercy, so that, qwhen they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, rthey shall mourn for him, sas one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
