Jeremiah 31:15-17

15 Thus says the Lord:
a“A voice is heard in bRamah,
lamentation and bitter weeping.
cRachel is weeping for her children;
she refuses to be comforted for her children,
dbecause they are no more.”
16 Thus says the Lord:
Keep your voice from weeping,
and your eyes from tears,
for there is a reward for your work,

declares the Lord,
and ethey shall come back from the land of the enemy.
17 fThere is hope for your future,

declares the Lord,
and your children shall come back to their own country.

Romans 11:11-17

Gentiles Grafted In

11So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass gsalvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion
Greek  their fullness
mean!

13Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as iI am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and jthus save some of them. 15For if their rejection means kthe reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? 16 lIf the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17But if msome of the branches were broken off, and you, nalthough a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root
Greek root of richness; some manuscripts richness
of the olive tree,

Romans 11:24

24For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

Galatians 3:29

29And pif you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, qheirs according to promise.

Galatians 4:26-29

26But rthe Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. 27For it is written,

sRejoice, O barren one who does not bear;
break forth and cry aloud, you who are not in labor!
For the children of the desolate one will be more
than those of the one who has a husband.”
28Now you,

brothers, ulike Isaac, vare children of promise.
29But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh wpersecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, xso also it is now.
