Jeremiah Buys a Field During the Siege

1The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord ain the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, bwhich was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. 2At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet cwas shut up in dthe court of the guard that was in the palace of the king of Judah.

Jehoiakim Burns Jeremiah’s Scroll

1In the efourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2Take fa scroll and gwrite on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and hJudah iand all the nations, jfrom the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah until today. 3 kIt may be that the house of Judah will hear all the disaster that I intend to do to them, lso that every one may turn from his evil way, and mthat I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

4Then Jeremiah called nBaruch the son of Neriah, and oBaruch wrote on pa scroll at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord that he had spoken to him. 5And Jeremiah ordered qBaruch, saying, r“I am banned from going to the house of the Lord,

Jeremiah 37:21

21So King Zedekiah gave orders, and they committed Jeremiah to sthe court of the guard. And a loaf of bread was given him daily from the bakersstreet, tuntil all the bread of the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in uthe court of the guard.

Jeremiah 39:14

14sent and took Jeremiah from vthe court of the guard. They entrusted him to wGedaliah the son of xAhikam, son of yShaphan, that he should take him home. So zhe lived among the people.

2 Timothy 2:9
