3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying, “Why do you prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord: ^aBehold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it;

Jeremiah 32:8

8 Then Hanamel my cousin came to me in ^bthe court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the Lord, and said to me, ‘Buy my field that is at ^cAnathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

The Lord Promises Peace

1 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still ^dshut up in the court of the guard:

5 And Jeremiah ordered ^eBaruch, saying, ^f“I am banned from going to the house of the Lord,

Jeremiah 37:21

21 So King Zedekiah gave orders, and they committed Jeremiah to ^gthe court of the guard. And a loaf of bread was given him daily from the bakers’ street, ^huntil all the bread of the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in ⁱthe court of the guard.

Jeremiah 38:6

6 So they took Jeremiah ^jand cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in ^kthe court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down ^lby ropes. ^mAnd there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and ⁿJeremiah sank in the mud.

Jeremiah 39:13-15

13 So ^oNebuzaradan the captain of the guard, Nebushazban the Rab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, ^pand all the chief officers of the king of Babylon 14 sent and took Jeremiah from ^qthe court of the guard. They entrusted him to ^rGedaliah the son of ^sAhikam, son of ^tShaphan, that he should take him home. So ^uhe lived among the people.

15 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah ^vwhile he was shut up in the court of the guard:
