Jeremiah 33:24-26

24“Have you not observed that these people are saying, ‘The Lord has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight. 25Thus says the Lord: aIf I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth, 26then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. bFor I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.”

Matthew 24:35

Hebrews 6:13-18

The Certainty of God’s Promise

13For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, hhe swore by himself, 14saying, iSurely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15And thus Abraham,
Greek he
khaving patiently waited, obtained the promise.
16For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes lan oath is final for confirmation. 17So when God desired to show more convincingly to mthe heirs of the promise nthe unchangeable character of his purpose, ohe guaranteed it with an oath, 18so that by two unchangeable things, in which pit is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope qset before us.
