15 And the officials were enraged at Jeremiah, and they beat him ^aand imprisoned him in the house of Jonathan the secretary, for it had been made a prison.

Jeremiah 37:20

20 Now hear, please, O my lord the king: ^blet my humble plea come before you and ^cdo not send me back to the house of Jonathan the secretary, lest I die there.”

Jeremiah 38:26

26 then you shall say to them, ^d‘I made a humble plea to the king that he would not send me back to the house of Jonathan to die there.’”
