Jeremiah 4:26-29

26 I looked, and behold, the ^afruitful land was a desert,
and all its cities were laid in ruins
before the Lord, before ^bhis fierce anger.
27 For thus says the Lord, “The whole land shall be a desolation; ^cyet I will not make a full end.

28 ^d“For this the earth shall mourn,
^eand the heavens above be dark;
for I have spoken; I have purposed;
^fI have not relented, nor will I turn back.”
29 At the noise of horseman and archer
every city takes to flight;
they enter thickets; they climb among rocks;
all the cities are forsaken,
and ^gno man dwells in them.

Jeremiah 7:20

20 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, ^hmy anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, upon man and beast, upon the trees of the field and the fruit of the ground; ⁱit will burn and not be quenched.”

Jeremiah 7:34

34 ^jAnd I will silence in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, ^kfor the land shall become a waste.

Jeremiah 9:11

11 ^lI will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins,
