Judgment on Ammon

1 ^aConcerning the Ammonites.

Thus says the Lord:

“Has Israel no sons?
Has he no heir?
Why then has ^bMilcom ^cdispossessed Gad,
and his people settled in its cities?

Amos 1:13-15

13 Thus says the Lord:

^d“For three transgressions of the ^eAmmonites,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because ^fthey have ripped open pregnant women in ^gGilead,
that they might enlarge their border.
14 So I will kindle a fire in the wall of ^hRabbah,
ⁱand it shall devour her strongholds,
with shouting on the day of battle,
^jwith a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;
15 and ^ktheir king shall go into exile,
