Jeremiah 49:17-22

17 aEdom shall become a horror. bEveryone who passes by it will be horrified cand will hiss because of all its disasters. 18 dAs when Sodom and Gomorrah and their eneighboring cities were overthrown, says the Lord, fno man shall dwell there, gno man shall sojourn in her. 19 hBehold, ilike a lion coming up from jthe jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him
Septuagint, Syriac them
run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. lFor who is like me? mWho will summon me? nWhat shepherd can stand before me?
20Therefore hear the plan that the Lord has made against oEdom and the purposes that he has formed against the inhabitants of pTeman: qEven the little ones of the flock shall be dragged away. Surely their fold shall be appalled at their fate. 21At the sound of their fall rthe earth shall tremble; the sound of their cry shall be heard at the Red Sea. 22Behold, sone shall mount up and fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against tBozrah, and the heart of the warriors of Edom shall be in that day like the heart uof a woman in her birth pains.”

Lamentations 4:21-22

21 vRejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom,
you who dwell in wthe land of Uz;
but to you also xthe cup shall pass;
you shall become drunk and strip yourself bare.
22 yThe punishment of your iniquity, O daughter of Zion, is accomplished;
he will keep you in exile no longer;
Or  he will not exile you again

but aayour iniquity, O daughter of Edom, he will punish;
he will uncover your sins.

Ezekiel 25:12-14

Prophecy Against Edom

12Thus says the Lord God: Because abEdom acted revengefully against the house of Judah and has grievously offended acin taking vengeance on them, 13therefore thus says the Lord God, adI will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from aeTeman even to afDedan they shall fall by the sword. 14And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom agby the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and ahthey shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God.

Ezekiel 35:3-15

3and say to it, Thus says the Lord God: aiBehold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and ajI will stretch out my hand against you, akand I will make you a desolation and a waste. 4 alI will lay your cities waste, and you shall become a desolation, and you shall know that I am the Lord. 5Because amyou cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword anat the time of their calamity, aoat the time of their final punishment, 6therefore, apas I live, declares the Lord God, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; aqbecause you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood shall pursue you. 7 arI will make Mount Seir a waste asand a desolation, and I will cut off from it atall who come and go. 8And I will fill auits mountains with the slain. On your hills and in your valleys and in all avyour ravines awthose slain with the sword shall fall. 9 axI will make you a perpetual desolation, and ayyour cities shall not be inhabited. Then azyou will know that I am the Lord.

10Because you said, ba‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and bbwe will take possession of them’—although the bcLord was there 11therefore, bdas I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you beaccording to the anger and bfenvy that you showed because of your hatred against them. And bgI will make myself known among them, when I judge you. 12And you shall know that I am the Lord.

bh“I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; bithey are given us to devour.’
13And bjyou magnified yourselves against me bkwith your mouth, and multiplied your words against me; I heard it. 14Thus says the Lord God: blWhile the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15As you bmrejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, bnMount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then bothey will know that I am the Lord.
