5 Why then has this people ^cturned away
in perpetual ^dbacksliding?
^eThey hold fast to deceit;
they refuse to return.
6 ^fI have paid attention and listened,
but they have not spoken rightly;
no man relents of his evil,
saying, ‘What have I done?’
Everyone turns to his own course,
^glike a horse plunging headlong into battle.
7 Even the stork in the heavens
knows her times,
and ^hthe turtledove, ⁱswallow, and crane ^{▼▼The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain}
keep the time of their coming,
^kbut my people know not
the rules ^{▼▼Or just decrees} of the Lord.
8 ^m“How can you say, ‘We are wise,
and the law of the Lord is with us’?
But behold, the lying pen of the scribes
has made it into a lie.
9 ⁿThe wise men shall be put to shame;
they shall be dismayed ^oand taken;
behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord,
so what wisdom is in them?

Jeremiah 23:10

10 ^pFor the land is full of adulterers;
^qbecause of the curse ^rthe land mourns,
and ^sthe pastures of the wilderness are dried up.
^tTheir course is evil,
and their might is not right.

Jeremiah 23:14

14 But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
^uthey commit adultery and walk in lies;
^vthey strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
^wall of them have become like Sodom to me,
^xand its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”

Jeremiah 23:24

24 ^yCan a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. ^zDo I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 28:15-16

15 And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, ^aathe Lord has not sent you, ^aband you have made this people trust in a lie. 16 Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. Jeremiah 44:15-19

Ezekiel 13:10-11

Ezekiel 13:22
