Jeremiah 5:31

31 athe prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
bmy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

Jeremiah 8:5-9

5Why then has this people cturned away
in perpetual dbacksliding?
eThey hold fast to deceit;
they refuse to return.
6 fI have paid attention and listened,
but they have not spoken rightly;
no man relents of his evil,
saying, ‘What have I done?’
Everyone turns to his own course,

7Even the stork in the heavens
knows her times,
and hthe turtledove, iswallow, and crane
The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain

keep the time of their coming,
kbut my people know not
the rules
Or just decrees
of the Lord.
8 mHow can you say, ‘We are wise,
and the law of the Lord is with us’?
But behold, the lying pen of the scribes
has made it into a lie.
9 nThe wise men shall be put to shame;
they shall be dismayed oand taken;
behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord,
so what wisdom is in them?

Jeremiah 23:10

10 pFor the land is full of adulterers;
qbecause of the curse rthe land mourns,
and sthe pastures of the wilderness are dried up.
tTheir course is evil,
and their might is not right.

Jeremiah 23:14

14But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
uthey commit adultery and walk in lies;
vthey strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
wall of them have become like Sodom to me,
xand its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”

Jeremiah 23:24

24 yCan a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. zDo I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 28:15-16

15And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, aathe Lord has not sent you, aband you have made this people trust in a lie. 16Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, acbecause you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’”

Jeremiah 44:15-19

15Then all the men who knew that adtheir wives had made offerings to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, all the people who lived in aePathros in the land of Egypt, answered Jeremiah: 16“As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, afwe will not listen to you. 17 agBut we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to ahthe queen of heaven aiand pour out drink offerings to her, ajas we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster. 18But since we left off making offerings to akthe queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything aland have been consumed by the sword and by famine.” 19And the women said,

When we made offerings to the queen of heaven anand poured out drink offerings to her, was it aowithout our husbands’ approval that we made cakes for her bearing her image and poured out drink offerings to her?”

Ezekiel 13:10-11

10Precisely because they have misled my people, apsaying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, aqthese prophets smear it with whitewash,

11say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! asThere will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out.

Ezekiel 13:22

22 atBecause you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and auyou have encouraged the wicked, that avhe should not turn from his evil way to save his life,
