Jeremiah 5:8-9

8They were well-fed, lusty stallions,
aeach neighing bfor his neighbor’s wife.
9 cShall I not punish them for these things?

declares the Lord;
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?

Jeremiah 29:22-23

Matthew 5:27-28

Mark 10:11-12

11And he said to them, qWhoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her, 12and rif she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”

Romans 7:2-3

2For sa married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage.
Greek law concerning the husband
3Accordingly, ushe will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.
